Hey Matt,

Good to hear from you. I'm glad you're enjoying the blog.

I'm looking through yours now--it's good stuff. I like the googeability post.

I agree regarding length--it should be a case-by-case judgment.

I commented on Megan Taylor's blog when she posted about you and her making the Soundslides tutorial (and I see you did a post about it too). I said she should ask you about the intern video...those were good times. No one will top Colleen's story.

Best,
Greg

Hey Greg,

I've been following your blog for a little while now. I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

I see this presentation was given in one of your online media classes. Does the class have an online syllabus?

I looked over the slides from the presentation, and I have just one criticism: I don't think it is a good idea to peg online media with so many rules of thumb.

Research shows that if the content is good, the length of a story, or in this case, video won't matter. So, if you don't have much to say, 1 to 2 minutes of video is good. If you have strong compelling video, you could go as long as five minutes or even more, and the reader is going to stay.

Check out my blog some time,

Matthew Gonzalez
Fellow former Sun-Sentinel intern
info@magzalez.com
